Rootlab was brought on as a show art vendor for Meow Wolf's fifth permanent installation Radio Tave in Houston, TX.
We collaborated extensively with Meow Wolf's design, production and art teams to produce key elements for several anchors throughout the experience. The majority of our work was in the Alley-- a super tight urban alleyway that connects the several other spaces. The alley is packed to the gills with psychedelic signage, art dioramas and side rooms with individual art installations. We created all the faux finish wall panels, windows, overhead dressing, much of the lit signage and some of the graphic signage. We also produced several elements in the arcade including the vending machine, condiment station with interactive sound element and weathered fast food restaurant table and bench. All materials were FR and are not what they seem to be...
Additionally we provided several elements in the Ruins including the lit "ENTL" sign and 3000+ SF of overhead ceiling canopy. This was created using laser cut FR fabric that was prepainted before laser.
We also provided several elements throughout the front of house, including a huge mirror, and several pieces of furniture used by guest services.
Shout out to the awesome team at Meow Wolf, this was a fun one!
